Helping You Get Started

Welcome to the Peninsula Center for Implantology. Our entire team appreciates the opportunity to care for your oral health and especially your smile. We care about your oral wellbeing and will always deliver the exemplary service and personalized attention you deserve.

Your First Visit

Your initial exam will take about one hour. Dr. Provines will ask about the reason for your visit, as well as your expectations and concerns. Then he’ll conduct a thorough examination to evaluate your periodontal oral health and including your medical history. Your gums and teeth and an oral cancer screening will be performed utilizing the ViziLite system. A panoramic digital X-ray will allow us to have detailed information to aid in an accurate diagnosis. We may also take photographs of your mouth so that we can see all the fine details of your teeth and gums. An intraoral camera is also available for visualizing more difficult areas.

Following your examination, your intraoral images and X-rays will be utilized to explain the findings and suggested therapies. He will present a personalized treatment plan and help you decide which options are right for you. Our front-office staff will schedule your next appointment before you leave.

Dental Insurance

We accept a variety of dental insurance plans. In particular, Dr. Provines is a Premier provider for Delta Dental, Cigna and Metlife. Different plans offer different levels of coverage for various services. For example, most plans will pay for periodontal treatment, but some may not offer coverage for implant placement; we can go over your benefits with you and help you understand which parts of your procedure that insurance can help with. As a courtesy, our team will electronically file your insurance claim for you and help maximize your benefits.
